Volunteer Roles and Contact
Academic Tutor
Assist young adults to develop skills in language arts, science, mathematics, and/or social studies to prepare for the GED. During the COVID-19 crisis we are practicing remote learning. Tutors can offer support via teleconferencing.
Youth Mentor
Apply to volunteer as a mentor to be matched with a YouthWorks student where you will be an extra line of support to the students as they are completing their programs, GED preparation, job training, and as they are learning to become community leaders. During the COVID-19 crisis our mentor program is employing social distancing measures and mentors will serve a modified role.
Emergency Meals Food Preparation
Following our COVID-19 safety code, personal protection, and contact precautions, assist in our kitchen to prepare meals for youth and community members in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
Emergency Meals Distribution Administration
Following our COVID-19 safety code, personal protection, and contact precautions assist at SFPS distribution sites to record names and birth dates of emergency meal recipients.
General Maintenance
Provide on-site general maintenance services such as repair, landscaping, cleaning, or organization at YouthWorks.
Workshop Presenter
Present on a subject of interest to YouthWorks students and clients. Some examples include financial literacy, leadership, mental health, social justice, ecology, financing higher education, etc.
